The Washington University Weight Loss Surgery Program at Barnes-Jewish Hospital takes a team approach in its treatment of patients who are severely obese. Bariatric surgeons lead the team, which also consists of psychologists, a nurse practitioner, dietitians, physical therapists and a program coordinator. The team manages preparation for surgery, follow-up and tracking of outcomes for every patient who undergoes surgery.
