J. Chris Eagon, MD

J. Chris Eagon, MD, is director of the Adult and Adolescent Bariatric Surgery Program and chief of staff for Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital.
He specializes in the surgical treatment of obesity, began performing bariatric surgeries at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in 1997. He earned his medical degree from Harvard University and completed his general surgery residency at Washington University School of Medicine. He also received fellowship training in digestive diseases at the Mayo Clinic and in medical informatics at the University of Utah.
Dr. Eagon is board certified in surgery and was part of the most recent review of the Washington University Bariatric Surgery Program and Barnes-Jewish Hospital by the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) that resulted in ASMBS Center of Excellence designation.
